Alerta de vacaciones/Vacation Alert

Huerto Comunitario: New growth

The garden started last November as a small plot of land behind On A Whim , that had been used for many years as a dumping ground for trash of the community.  In collaboration with Abonatura , La Casa Verde and Rebecca Hervieux clearing of the area took place. Now it was time to plant.  We started with 2 banana plants donated by Hotelito Dulce Mareas , 2 plantains and a big grass donated by Rebecca, and a basil plant donated by El Cardhu Del Mar .  Unfortunately due to water restrictions during dry season the bananas and plantains didn't make it.  Around this time a private donor also gave us a number of seedlings.  I did my best to keep them alive but in the end I think it was the leaf cutter ants that enjoyed them most.  A coconut tree was donated by Beth but from the early stages it lost leaves to hungry horses, cows and pigs.  The basil plant however has flourished.    At this point La Casa Verde swooped...

August 2017: No More Practice Journal

Taking a break after setting up for August. Lovin' life at the beach. He knew just what I wanted. At the end of the rainbow! Where the butterflies fly and the habit trackers track... There's a bi-weekly vertical dutch door set up with lots of list space on the other side.  I have a number of items that happen every week and being a bullet journal, meant to be about productivity, I really don't want to write them every week. They fit great in the left margin. These are the beginning of some collections I am working on for the year.   The @ is for my websites page views and blog post dates.  The yoga man is for tracking my teacher hours, but I have not figured out how to create something to color here and incorporate the information I want to keep.  Like me on facebook:  onawhimnicaragua . Help color another lotus petal....

July 2017 Bujo

As we start August I come to the end of the first journal I ever finished....and I have been trying off and on since I was a teen. Here I am trying my weeklies as a month view.  I have many appointments that happen every week and I don't want to keep rewriting the same thing over and over.  That defeats the productivity of the whole bullet journal system in my opinion, plus I want to draw and doodle other things.  This months doodles are inspiration from #365doodleswithjohannafritz . Then I sort of ran out of space for my running type list and I don't like where the check boxes are, they became confusing.  So I gave this up in search of a dutch door solution. It moves in 2 places and the dates are just a thin strip which I taped down with a tiny piece of blue glitter washi.  Underneath I have running lists for the various projects and businesses I am part of and need to track. The flowers and leaves are some things my mom cut out for me using h...
