Did it get done?

Well, I can't say I got the whole list done.  I got a lot done but life gets in the way.  Enough excuses now for the update:

1.  I wrote my exam for the course I took.  I answered all the questions.  Now I wait and see what my mark turns out to be....and I may not know until January.

2. I painted my kitchen....It looks great.

3.  I have put up about 1/2 of my holiday decorations.  Having a very small apartment means that everything takes a little longer to find a place for, to put away what was there and to make sure everything is put back in storage.

4.  I have not wrapped any more gifts than I had wrapped when the list started. I have since purchased more so now I am even further behind. This task has a deadline so it will be done by the 25th.

5.  Organizing my apartment seems to be the never ending chore and will probably be on this list unti the end of time.  If it ever comes off the list I will be very excited.

6.  The baking has begun.  I hit a couple bumps at the beginning. I didn't take a good inventory of the ingredients I had so I had to make the last minute trip out for a couple things. I did find out that you can make gingerbread cookies without the vanilla it calls for and you can't even tell in the taste.  I also had never baked in my micro size kitchen so I had to find the rhythm and right set up.  I added my little bistro table by the window and that gave me enough space for extra ingredients and tools.

7. I still haven't located the papers I was looking for or organized a single thing for taxes.  This will have to stay on the list.  No one really believed I would have taxes organized already, did they?

8.  The apartment is definitely coming along but in the previous #3 and #5 we will see that one step forward seems to make one step back so I am not really getting ahead....but it is livable so for now I will be grateful.

9.  I got help and the stereo is set up to work with my blackberry and my laptop so now I can watch Breakfast Television on my laptop in surround sound.

10.  I got my secret sister gift although the pointsettia was late arriving so she didn't get that one.  I gave it to my mom for her secret sister.....surprise!

I did not even start on #7 but 9 out of 10 is pretty good for a procrastinator. A good experiment and a great outcome.

My Cup O Tea

Over the years I have become a fan of tea.  My favourites are non-caffeine.  Green Teas, herbal teas and rooibus.  Almost any loose leaf tea will do.  I once got chamomile tea from a friends parents and it was really just a whole baggie of chamomile flowers.....it was from a place in Sarnia, Ontario but I am not sure exactly where.  It just seems so much fresher when you can recognize it by sight.... In June while on vacation I found a tea store selling hand tied leaves.  What a fantastic aroma of jasmine.  It is the Madame Butterfly tea by Capital Teas (www.capitalteas.com).  It was very expensive and I just couldn't afford it but they certainly had lots of great teas. My most recent vacation in Florida found me in the Spice and Tea Exchange (www.spiceandtea.com) where I purchased a small bag of loose leaf hazelnut cookie tea.  Ceylon black base so not my usual herbal but wonderful smell and tastes very rich.  An enjoyable tea....

Read and read again!

Energy Healing: The Essentials of Self Care This one resonated with me. I could hardly put it down and that is unusual for me with a book in this genre. It all started for me on page 10 with a great composite view of different energy anatomies that had been explained in the preceding pages. For me, it really brought together the Chinese medicine, Thai massage, chakras and aura system in relation to each other. The healing stories through opening our connections to the energy fields of the universe were motivating and interesting to read. The first exercise I tried was the first one in the book "toe tapping". It's a pretty simple exercise so following the instructions was easy. I only kept it up for about a week but I believe I did start to feel benefits. I like to meditate and I am always looking for new ideas. This book provided. I still want to try the metta meditation and many of the other meditations that are throughout the book. I still have a numb...
