A shout out to inspiration!!!

Not sure where to begin....this has been a year so far...

I still have not found a yoga teacher.  More and more I really miss a couple of the excellent teachers I have had.  The first was in Vancouver in 1998 at a community center I don't remember her name but I remember her style.  My favourite song of Deva Premal is still purnamedah  which always reminds me of the teacher I had at the Y.  His class was Sunday mornings and I always felt better for it, even the day I cried through the entire class.  Another memorable teacher was in Guelph where I took my first 100 hours of yoga teacher training.   Her walking meditations changed meditation for me. It was money well spent and a memory I am grateful for.  The teacher I had in Nicaragua for 500 hours is the one I got the tongue scraper, blue pendulum, mala beads and journaling habit from.  She taught me alot....

I am finally connecting in a meaningful way with who I am, through my personal journey with yoga, ayurveda, reiki and the energy of the universe.

Reuniting recently with Reiki has been wonderful.  I have missed that meditative exchange of pure energy.  I also recently took my Reiki level 2 and it was inspiring all over again.

At the beginning of the year I felt like my journey had stalled, but now my daily practice is thriving in unconventional ways.  I look forward to my morning routine which is a combination of yoga, mantra, ayurveda and anything else that strikes me that morning.  Today it was a yoga inspired free style dance to the gayatri mantra by Deva Premal.   I also credit this growth with some new women who have come into my life .  I am looking forward to moving forward with new habits and ways of life while honoring the ancient teachings I am studying.

This month I will be holding two workshops...
The first will be on cooking from the book The Everyday Ayurveda Cookbook.  It will be a group cook of a full meal that we will share after...May 12
The other is a book club and it is my way of continuing my education and yours, paid for by donation or snack.... It means at the very least we read a yoga, ayurveda or energy inspired book a month and share our thoughts on it.  This months book is Energy Healing and we will also try some of the exercises in it.. May 25.

My Cup O Tea

Over the years I have become a fan of tea.  My favourites are non-caffeine.  Green Teas, herbal teas and rooibus.  Almost any loose leaf tea will do.  I once got chamomile tea from a friends parents and it was really just a whole baggie of chamomile flowers.....it was from a place in Sarnia, Ontario but I am not sure exactly where.  It just seems so much fresher when you can recognize it by sight.... In June while on vacation I found a tea store selling hand tied leaves.  What a fantastic aroma of jasmine.  It is the Madame Butterfly tea by Capital Teas (www.capitalteas.com).  It was very expensive and I just couldn't afford it but they certainly had lots of great teas. My most recent vacation in Florida found me in the Spice and Tea Exchange (www.spiceandtea.com) where I purchased a small bag of loose leaf hazelnut cookie tea.  Ceylon black base so not my usual herbal but wonderful smell and tastes very rich.  An enjoyable tea....

Where is the balance?

Everyday I wake up with big plans of getting some exercise, making some jewelry, Christmas decorations and cards and somehow it is now just before Christmas and I have not gotten in any better shape and have only made one pair of earrings this year....Where is the balance? How do I stop everyday life from stopping me.  By the time I get home from work, make dinner and do all the things I have to do which now also include a college course and a volunteer position I have no time for the things I set out to do at the beginning of the year.  I do not know where I could possibly squeeze in another hour or so....I am already exhausted.  I had mistakenly thought that when I sold my house and no longer had that maintenance to look after I would have more time...nope not so.  Okay so I got a job that I only work 35 hours a week and get off at 2:30 on Fridays and I could use that time....nope....now it just gets used for errands most times.... I keep asking myself this q...
