Energy Healing: The Essentials of Self Care

This one resonated with me. I could hardly put it down and that is unusual for me with a book in this genre.

It all started for me on page 10 with a great composite view of different energy anatomies that had been explained in the preceding pages. For me, it really brought together the Chinese medicine, Thai massage, chakras and aura system in relation to each other.

The healing stories through opening our connections to the energy fields of the universe were motivating and interesting to read.

The first exercise I tried was the first one in the book "toe tapping". It's a pretty simple exercise so following the instructions was easy. I only kept it up for about a week but I believe I did start to feel benefits.

I like to meditate and I am always looking for new ideas. This book provided. I still want to try the metta meditation and many of the other meditations that are throughout the book.

I still have a number of practices in the book I would like to try as it is chocked full of them. From the simple rubbing hands together to feel the energy between them practice to much more complicated movement of energies.

Here's a quote that I had to bookmark...."I believe awakening is not a static, on-or-off state. It is not a coin with two sides: awakened and unawakened. Awakening is a continuum that you can spend your whole life diving into."

The only part I didn't connect with in relation to each chapter or at all were the quotes from Lalla, Naked Song...I missed something here . On the reread to write this review, I now see and understand the reference for chapter 2.

I could definitely read this book again and again. It will hold a spot on my reference shelf as I continue to glean new energy from it's contents.

Week 2: Monday-Thursday

Day 5:  NO spending day.  It was a quiet Monday. Day 6:  I spent approx $6.00 to fill a prescription. I should probably update you on another goal I had for this year.  I have been trying to make it to the gym twice a week since January.  It doesn't seem like a big goal but some weeks it is tough. Truthfully I haven't made it even once in the last  two weeks but I got back on track today with a bootcamp class at the YMCA I go to.  Although I am not noticing much difference in my weight or how I look I have noticed a substantial difference in how I feel......GREAT!  I am also hoping it will translate into an improved softball season. I may never be in the shape I was at 20 again but I can certainly try and be closer than I am now. Today was also lunch date day.....my coworker brought pulled pork sandwiches with carrot stick and cherry tomatoes.  She also made chocolate peanut butter squares....ummm delicious.  I will have to get that ...

So This is Christmas

So this is Christmas And what have you done? Another year over And a new one just begun And so this is Christmas I hope you have fun The near and the dear one The old and the young A very merry Christmas And a happy New Year Let's hope it's a good one Without any fear And so this is Christmas For weak and for strong For rich and the poor ones The world is so wrong And so happy Christmas For black and for white For yellow and red ones Let's stop all the fight I was reminded of this song at a dinner theatre I went to on Monday so I looked it up and here it is.  It is amazing that a song written so many years ago is still so relevant today.  You would think with evolution and technology and all the advances of today's world there would be no validity in songs like this.  Wrong! I only hope that we as citizens of the world can join forces as one in time to save ourselves.

I am cooking from the ingredients I have!

I found a website that allows you to put in the ingredients you have in your kitchen and then gives you recipes to use them.  I have added the gadget to my blog if you want to check out how it works.  I am going to try it because I am always trying to find new ways to prepare all the things I like to eat in my kitchen.  It takes recipes from a multitude of good cooking sites such as Martha Stewart, Epicurious, All recipes and more. this week I will try the puffed pancake with strawberries and I don't have to check because Supercook already figured that out for me......
